Good morning and Happy Friday. The weekend is almost here. This week, I thought it would be interested in talking about infants and their sleeping habits.
As most parents know, the sleeping patterns for infants are completely unpredictable. Sometimes it seems as our children our sleeping like logs, but then 5 minutes later, they start screeching like peacocks. Though It is just to get our attention, we can’t help wonder why they wake up sometimes at the most inconvenient times. I’m sure most of us has had our fair share of waking up in the middle of the night to calm our babies, and only recently I started researching into how sleeping patterns change as babies become older.
Newborns typically tend to sleep a lot, usually for up to 18 hours a day. But what this statistic doesn’t tell is that most babies don’t sleep for the full 18 hours. They tend to wake up every two to four hours at a time. This results in very cranky and sleep deprived parents. I think it’s one of the greatest things to sacrifice for your child, and is very rewarding in the long run. At around 6 months, babies can sleep for up to 12 hours straight through the night without waking up. This can be reached by articulating sleeping habits for your children. As they get older, their sleep schedule becomes more and more consistent. I hope this helped you all, and I will see you guys next week.
Quote of the day by His Holiness. “Today, as we wish each other a Happy New Year, let us determine to be more sincere, compassionate, warm-hearted human beings, trying to make our world a more equal place. That way we'll actually make it a happy year.”
